“I like to go outside, go outdoors, go for a walk, go for hikes, sit around a bonfire, talk to other friends who have been through this and who struggle with PTS. That’s been a very useful one. I still live in a military area around a base, so there’s a lot of people that are struggling with the same issues. So really linking up with them. Talking, not about the issues, but just talking, just being around someone else who you know is gone through the same things, thinks about the same issues. We will keep an eye on each other and check on each other and just spend time together. It’s somebody who understands. If you bring up something you want to talk about, they get it. Those are the ways that I deal with those stresses.”
